The GENIUS Doctoral Network consortium held its official two-day Kick-Off Meeting at the end of October 2025, bringing together all project beneficiaries for the first time to align on objectives, work packages, and upcoming activities. The kick-off meeting took place at the iconic Edinburgh Futures Institute (housed in the historic, newly redeveloped Old Royal Infirmary, symbolising the blending of heritage with forward-looking innovation) at the University of Edinburgh, which is coordinating the GENIUS Doctoral Network.

The meeting offered a deeper opportunity for collaboration, strategic planning, and shared vision-building. Throughout the sessions, partners discussed the project’s goals, the training framework, recruitment processes, governance structures, and plans for stakeholder engagement.

The Kick-Off Meeting also provided space for networking ensuring smooth communication and synergy across the teams. The positive energy and alignment among beneficiaries set a strong foundation for the years ahead.

We are excited to move forward, with activities now fully underway.
