The GENIUS Doctoral Network has opened applications for its inaugural cohort, seeking 15 Doctoral Candidates to train as pioneers in integrating energy geostructures into urban systems. Coordinated by Dr. Melis Sutman at the University of Edinburgh, the network is funded under the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Actions Doctoral Networks 2024 and aims to bridge knowledge gaps in shallow geothermal technologies for heating, cooling, and underground storage. Successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary consortium of European universities and industry partners, receive structured training, and contribute to research that supports Europe’s transition to a climate‑neutral future.

This project is funded by the European Union as part of the Horizon Europe programme, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN) 2024 and under the Agreement number 101226708
